I have been receiving quite a few enquiries about live music for weddings and other private events, so I thought it would be best to answer the most frequently asked questions in this blog post. If there is anything else you’d like to know, please do not hesitate to contact me via the form or by email.
What type of music can you play on the kanklės?
Almost any genre is possible on the instrument, but I am most comfortable with popular, classical, folk, and jazz. You can choose to have one genre throughout the event or mix them all—it’s completely up to you!
Can I choose the music you play at my event?
Yes, you can absolutely choose every single piece from my repertoire, which includes over 200 selections. Since weddings and events planning can get quite busy, you also have the option to simply point me toward your preferred genres, and I will choose accordingly. Another option is to select your top 5-10 favorite songs/pieces, and I will curate the rest of the music based on your preferred artists.
How loud is the kanklės? Do you need a sound system?
I usually play acoustically (without a sound system), and the kanklės can be heard well. However, it also depends on the number of guests at your event and the size of the room. In any case, I am happy to bring my battery-powered speaker, which makes it easy for me to move from one room to another. Ideally, your guests should hear the music clearly, but at a comfortable volume that still allows for easy conversation.
I have a favourite song, but I don’t see it on your list. Can you learn special requests?
Absolutely! The price always includes two song or piece requests that are not on my list. For wedding ceremonies, I am also happy to record your entrance music as a gift, which you are welcome to keep as a memory.

Can you play outdoors?
I am happy to play outdoors, but it’s important that the weather conditions are suitable, or that both my instrument and I have proper protection from direct sun and rain. The most important thing is to have an indoor backup option and be willing to use it if the weather isn’t ideal. If there is a risk of the instrument being damaged, I unfortunately won’t be able to play.
How many pieces will you play if I book you for 1 hour?
It depends on the genre you choose, but I usually manage to include between 15 and 20 songs or pieces in an hour.
What is your price for 1 hour of live music at my event/wedding ceremony?
The price may vary depending on how far your location is. I am based in London, so the distance will be calculated from here. But I am definitely happy and willing to perform all across the UK and internationally! My prices start at £250 + travel expenses, but please get in touch for an accurate quote.
Do you have any more questions? Please send me an email, and I will reply as soon as possible :)
